Wetmore Landing Rainy Day Elopement, Marquette MI - A + D

Amber and Drew traveled six hours to the U.P. to elope with a handful of their family as witnesses. They were drawn to the beauty of the U.P. and wanted to saw their vows surround by the gloriously untouched nature that we are blessed with here. We started their day with a first look surrounded by the pine trees at Little Presque Isle.

As we made our way to Wetmore Landing for their ceremony, it started to sprinkle on and off. Amber was a trooper and was not phased by the rain at all. We bring clear umbrellas to any wedding that we photograph, so she was protected from the rain. Her family was at the beach waiting for them to arrive. One of my favorite moments of the day was when the three kids who attended their ceremony ran across the beach to meet her.

The ceremony was officiated by Amber's Mom. We love when our couples have a family member officiate their ceremony. It makes it so much more personal with lots of laughs throughout the ceremony. They had also DIY'ed a beautiful triangular backdrop for their ceremony. The mist continued throughout the ceremony and like a dream, rainbows kept appearing in the sky, including a double rainbow! After the ceremony was over, the family had a big impromptu hug, which was so heartfelt.

After family formal photos and some epic drone photos, we packed up and headed to Black Rocks for sunset. The rain gave us a colorful sky with dark clouds creating a unique moody backdrop that I (Lindsey) couldn't get enough of!

The weather also brought some surprise waves splashing the rocks and catching Amber and Drew by surprise. They were up for the adventure though and laughed through it all. They brought their favorite Cheesecake Factory cheesecake as their wedding treat. We all enjoyed a slice to end a wonderful evening and send them off to celebrate further with their family. We couldn't have asked for a better couple or more picturesque backdrops for their wedding day.

Kind words from Amber:

"Words cannot express the experience we had with Rob and Lindsey at True Presence photography. The level of thoughtfulness and professionalism is unsurpassed. We sent an email to inquire about their services a mere 15 days from the date of our short notice elopement. I received a reply almost instantly and they were able to work us in on the date that we had hoped for without any issues. They scheduled a google meets call (because we live 6 hours away) to go over beginning stages of planning (which we had nothing planned at the time). Rob and Lindsey were very helpful with recommendations on locations for the ceremony as well as locations for dinner reservations and many other services. We were able to make a trip to Marquette to meet once before the wedding to finalize plans and get to know each other a little better before the wedding. They are two of the most wonderful people and were able to capture our special day with unimaginable beauty!! We chose to have photos taken as well as the highlight video option and WE WERE SO GLAD WE DID♥️ These memories were something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives and I don’t think we could have made a better choice than True Presence Photography

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND I would give them more than 5 stars if I could
